| Description | This collection contains letters to and from Smith, covering the whole of Smith's professional veterinary career since he joined the Royal Horse Artillery in India in 1877. There are some additional letters catalogued separately within FS/1 and FS/2, in order to preserve Smith's original filing structure. All the folders of correspondence in this SubFonds, were found stored separately. It is unknown whether this separation was made by Smith, or another individual since his death, except for folders within FS/3/3, which have been annotated by Smith. |
