Description | This notebook contains manuscript notes and sketches made by Smith, during his study at the Royal Veterinary College from 1873 to 1874. The notes are about the eye and the foot of the horse.
Smith presented these notes to the library of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. There is an annotation on the flyleaf which says - "The only interest attached to this book is historical. It shows how the student struggled with his subject before the days of manuals. Chauveau, it is true, existed but it was expensive and the nomenclature was not that employed at the London School. A good note book was a valuable asset and sold well when no longer required. F Smith".
[There is another note book of lectures, on the subject of bones, written by Smith, catalogued at FS/2/1/1/1] |
